RCI Love My Hood Family Fun Day
With the support from City of Burlington Love My Hood program, Redleaf Cultural Integration had their 2nd year Family Fun Day at Burlington Orchard Community Park on August 18th. There were more than 300 people attended this fun event, including Oakville Jiu-Jiu Seniors Association and Green Oak Senior Club.
After everyone sang O Canada and Chinese anthem, MP Karina Gould gave the event a warm and powerful speech about encouraging people settling in Canada and making contribution to local community.
During the event, people enjoyed wonderful performances, such as Chinese traditional dance, Redleaf Choir Cappela, Bollywood Dance, and Taichi. The seniors choir drew the most attention from the people, there were about 70 seniors singing together and celebrating their friendship.
In Family Fun Zone, lots of games and contests were planned for the whole family. Ginger the Clown and our artistic volunteers did a fantastic job on face painting and making animal balloons. Burlington public library booth was busy with the kids all the time.
游戏区是孩子们的乐园。孩子们在这儿玩耍嬉戏，其乐无穷。有的画脸，有的套圈，有的戏水，有的拔河，有的搭积木，有的学做气球动物，有的参加有奖竞猜游戏……男孩儿如体育健将，女孩儿似彩蝶飞舞。到处是银铃般的笑声，随处可见幸福的笑脸。
不远处，有威严的警车和消防车演示，吸引了许多成人和孩子上前参观拍照，还有人争相与停在山坡上的古董老爷车拍照留下美好瞬间。会场周边还有许多展台，前来布展的有伯灵顿中心图书馆，伯灵顿华人差传教会，常青听力及无人机展示台等等。康乐之家的展台上有长者们巧手编织的展品和义卖。红叶文化协会会标前备有许多妙趣横生的摄影小道具，吸引到许多家庭在的会标前拍照留念。华人教会的弟兄姐妹们也一刻不停地为参加活动者分发西瓜和水，送来一份爱意和甜美。
此时，舞台上下依旧热闹非凡。歌唱爱好者们纷纷上台做即兴表演，乐队成员们忘记休息，情绪高昂，一曲接一曲地伴奏，曲高众和，乐此不疲。
4点半以后，“家庭同乐日”联欢活动落下帷幕。红叶文化协会真诚感谢本次活动的所有义工们的辛勤付出！感谢各演出团队的友情演出。也感谢奥克维尔99老年协会，绿橡树老年俱乐部的积极参与和鼎力协助。使本次活动取得圆满成功！
